Unknown risks – overview (extract Global Catastrophic Risk report 2018)

Rapid economic, scientific and technological development brings unforeseen new risks in its wake. It is therefore likely that many future global catastrophic risks are at present unknown.There is obviously little that we know about unknown risks, but we do have the capacity to develop better methods for scanning and monitoring them.
