How to manage catastrophic risks

Mats Andersson, vice president at the Global Challenges Foundation, participated in the panel discussion “How to manage global catastrophic risk”, held by the Brookings Institution in Washington DC, on 15 February.

Before an audience of more than 200, Mats Andersson discussed what new methods and perspectives are needed for global governance models, together with Kemal Dervis; former head of United Nations Development Programme UNDP and minister of economic affairs in Turkey, Maria Ivanova; Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Governance and Sustainability at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Stewart M. Patrick; expert on multilateral cooperation and international institutions at the Council on Foreign Relations. Moderator was Darrell M. West; director of Brookings Institution’s department for Governance Studies.
