Science – Policy Dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Kenyan Parliamentarians

On 6 June the Global Challenges Foundation, Stockholm Environment Institute SEI, GLOBE International, and the TANA Community Empowerment Programme (TANA CEP) organised the event ”Science – Policy Dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the Kenyan Parliamentarians” at the Crown Plaza in Nairobi.

At the event the Global Challenges Prize 2017: A New Shape and the “Global Catastrophic Risks 2017” annual report were presented. Wanjira Mathai of the Wangari Maathai Foundation and ambassador of the Global Challenges Prize 2017: A New Shape, and Victoria Wariaro of the Global Challenges Foundation spoke to a well-rounded audience of parliamentarians, academics and with UN representation.

Hon. Francis Xavier Ole Kaparo, Commission Chair, National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and Former Speaker of the National Assembly held the keynote speech “The role of global institutions in promoting a peaceful, cohesive and inclusive society”, and joined Wanjira Mathai and Victoria Wariaro in a discussion.
