Basic Tax Control

: Aleksandar Ristevski

The submission proposes a crowd funding and investing scheme in which a certain small amount of taxation is retained by each person of a certain age each month. Every person that receives money needs to invest the received money into the projects created by people, companies, or government according to their personal preferences. Companies financed by the investment scheme need to enter a social-public partnership, either as a percent of their profits or providing shares of a company's ownership. Profits are to be returned to the investment/UBI-programme. Depending on the project type projects could be given to public ownership in their entirety. Any company that receives this funding and automates its workforce, needs to gradually relinquish control to public ownership. It is a proposal aiming for an affordable way to institute UBI, as well as providing solutions to catastrophic climate change through innovation. Eradicating extreme global poverty through UBI would address population growth. The investment scheme is to be adapted to local circumstances and be scalable. The population would also be given the opportunity to learn more regarding current developments in order to invest, thus increasing their opportunities for self-governance.

Gris Anik

Gris is currently travelling around the world looking for new materials, views, ideas for writing or to potentially create a startup.

During more than 15 year of professional career, he has worked in different positions in the IT industry. His experiences at companies like Siemens and NHS, different teams and project, as well as following global industry trends gave him a good overview of technology's ability to change our lives.

As he originates from a country ravaged by civil war, he realised from a young age that if we want to survive in long run, humanity has to change the technology it uses, its  relationship to nature, its perception of labour and its way of governance.

Almost every non-working hour he spends learning about history, technology, science, politics, sociology, religion, philosophy and many other along with the issues we will experience in the future. Awareness of all upcoming challenges as global warming, artificial intelligence, nuclear proliferation, non-functional ruling systems and increasing disparity between economic classes made him dedicate his full time to write ideas and articles that were lying dormant for many years while he was chasing the career and paying bills.

As a result of his writings about technological unemployment, current political and economic system, Universal Basic income, technology advances as well as issues and challenges that await us in future, the book “System Upgrade v2.016” was released in November 20016. In the book he proposed the idea of Basic Tax Control for the first time, as a possible solution for future challenges.

Now, Basic Tax Control has become a part of the "The Global Challenges Prize 2017: A New Shape – Remodelling Global Cooperation", not as a fixed idea but more as a living organism that will morph over time.

Gris continues to work, write and fight for the better future and the humanity.
