On background and possible pathways forward in this UNFCCC podcast

November 14, 2022

COP 27 is wrapping up Friday Nov 18 and in one of the UNFCCC’s latest podcast episodes It’s Possible the focus lies on what is also discussed during the COP-meeting in Egypt.

The episode sets out to answer three key questions about the climate emergency:

  • how did we get here,
  • what does it mean,
  • and what can we do to change course?

Johan Rockström, board member of the Global Challenges Foundation, features together with Rachel Kyte, dean of The Fletcher School at Tufts University,

The first half of the podcast explores the latest science and explains why the world is in a climate emergency. The second half discuss what needs to happen to avert this crisis and limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
