Interview with Sky News – The people that are preparing the world for a disaster

May 25, 2021

Jonathan Samuels interviews Jens Orback, Executive Director of the Global Challenges Foundation, on Sky News Daily Podcast.

In the interview, Mr. Samuels asks Mr. Orback questions about all the global challenges and risks like supervolcano eruptions, the possible advantages and disadvantages of geoengineering, the development of unfriendly Artificial Intelligence, and ecological collapse.

Mr. Orback gives a presentation of what global catastrophic risks are, what science currently knows about them, as well as present and future policy solutions.

The Global Challenges Foundation particularly explores the interdependencies between different global catastrophic risks, finding connections and how possible reinforcements are connected. The complexity of the existential risks creates a gap between the challenges and the current shape of global governance. This necessitates international cooperation in order to innovative solutions.
