“Infrastructure Investment & Sustainable Development” at Columbia University

On 16 October 2017 the high-level symposium “Infrastructure Investment & Sustainable Development” was held at Columbia University in New York.

The event was organised by the Center on Global Economic Governance (CGEG) at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University, OCP Policy Center, the Portfolio Decarbonization Coalition, Sovereign Wealth Fund Research Initiative (SWF RI), the United Nations Environment Program – Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), and the Global Infrastructure Hub. The topic was strategies to spur both positive impacts on the environment and growth opportunities in emerging markets.

Mats Andersson, Vice Chairman of the Global Challenges Foundation, was invited to speak at the panel discussion “Mainstreaming Climate Change into Investor Decision-Making and Action – The Role of Disclosure and the Potential of the TCFD”.

The other speakers on the panel were Pete Grannis; First Deputy Comptroller, Office of the New York State Comptroller, Michael Rowan; Managing Director, Global Public, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Moody’s Investors Service,  and Xiaohua Zhang, Senior Policy Advisor on Climate Cooperation, United Nations. The panel was moderated by Cynthia Simon; Senior Manager, Investor Initiatives at CDP.
