How should global catastrophic risks be managed?

The New Shape Prize made public at Chatham House event.

On 24 November, Global Challenges Foundation vice president Mats Andersson participated in GCF’s panel discussion at Chatham House in London. The topic was “How Should Global Catastrophic Risks be Managed?” The discussion was paired with the official launch of the Global Challenges Prize 2017 – A New Shape.

Panellists were: Rob Bailey, research director at the Energy, Environment and Resources department at Chatham House; Thomas Hale, researcher of global public policy at Oxford University, Blavatnik School of Government; David Heymann, professor of infectious disease epidemiology at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who heads the Centre on Global Health Security at Chatham House; and Dr. Patricia Lewis, Research Director, International Security at Chatham House. Moderator was Sebastian Farquhar, leader of the Global Priorities Project at the Centre for Effective Altruism.
