The Global Challenges Foundation (GCF) supports risk awareness and facilitates governance innovation aimed at mitigating global catastrophic risks. With more than 2,700 submissions from 122 countries, the GCF’s competition for global governance innovators, the New Shape Prize, culminated in May 2018 with US$1.8 million in prize money split between three winning proposals.

The Global Challenges Foundation has since been supporting expert working groups in further developing some of the most promising ideas from the prize competition. After the Paris Peace Forum, the Global Challenges Foundation will focus on stress-testing and further refining these proposals while scanning for new ideas worth developing, and build a community of governance innovators who can mobilise support for a smart reform agenda, both at the top’ and and at the grassroots levels.
