Jakob Rhyner is professor for Global Change and Systemic Risks at the University of Bonn and Director of the Innovation Campus Bonn since 2018. He started his career as a physicist in industry (ABB Ltd) for more than 10 years, and then became the Director of the Swiss Snow and Avalanche Research Institute, followed by positions at the United Nations University, as Vice Rector in Europe and Director of the Institute for Environment and Human Security. He has published in physics, risk and sustainability research.
